I use 2 bars sword and shield
1 bar stamina skills with absorb stamina glyph on sword
1 bar magicka skills with absorb magicka glyph on sword
This is a pure tank build its focused on add control, Agro and survivability. Don't be expecting any DPS from it.
Stamina:
Heroic slash (morph of low slash)
Unstable flame ( stamina morph of searing strike )- cheap dot not needed for a tank but I use it, I will probably replace this with Vigor when i unlock it.
Ransack ( morph of puncture )
Shielded assault ( morph of shield charge )
Absorb magic ( morph of defensive posture )
Magicka:
Green dragon blood ( morph of dragon blood )
Igneous shield ( morph of obsidian shield ) this gives you and allies damage shield and improves healing of green dragon blood.
Hardened armour ( morph of spiked armour )
The above 3 are a must others I use tend to be more situational:
Reflective scale - not yet morphed both look really good.
Dark talons - either morph looks good think I chose the one that adds a dot
Ash cloud - I morphed to eruption but thinking the other morph may be better.
Lots of options here tbh but hardened armour green dragon blood and igneous shield are your main for staying alive.
Ultimate: mainly magma armour its unbeatable for a tank. It's cheap and with the battle roar passive replenishes your resources.
With a dragonknight your power comes from activating your ultimate. Make sure you have all passives in all 3 of your skill sets.
Corrosive armour is also a good option here, especially if everyone in your group is ranged DPS - as no one will active the synergy for the shield on magma armour.
Standard of mite - can't beat it for controlling adds with the chains, also improves your defence and damage.
But again this is situational.
On my VR 16 I'm currently wearing 5 pieces Juggernaut set, 4 Histbark, 3 Endurance jewellery.
I used to use Whitestrakes instead of Juggernaut - and I can honestly say that thing saved my ass a lot!
Below is my current stats at VR16 still have 4 pieces of gear to upgrade to gold/vr16 so will be slightly better when I'm finished. Some people go for insane resistance, however after reading up on this quite a lot resistance tends to be worthless somewhere around 33,000. The maximum damage mitigation you can get from resistance is 50% you hit this number around 33,000. While your resistance can continue to increase, it's only effective when you are debuffed or in PVP with people using penetrating traits.
Although it states below unbuffed, this is with no ability active. I have eaten food on the below screenshots.
